Share a bit of your personal history with the family. What would you like us to know about you?: My name is Merrier (Maria) Jackson and I am the second child of Idella and James (Deceased) Jackson. I am a graduate from the University of South Alabama where I received both my undergraduate and graduate degrees. During my tenure at "South," I pledged the greatest and most prestigious black sorority on the planet, my beloved Alpha Kappa Alpha, Sorority, Inc. In addition to being an illustrious woman of distinction, I am the proud mother of two lovely girls, Jasmyn Monet Mitchell and Jilyssa Denise Coffee-Jackson. Both girls are uniquely awesome and have each brought immeasurable joy to my life. I am also the proud Godmother of William Anthony Jamison.

I am employed as a Middle School Principal with Mobile County Public School System. During my tenure as principal, I have been recognized in international and regional magazines (i.e. US News and World Report/Southern Living) as well as countless local articles.

Overall, I am very content and happy with life. I enjoy traveling and spending time with family and friends. I am really excited about this family reunion and wish to give Jabbar a special "shout out" for putting this webpage together. I can hardly wait to see each of you this summer!
